Insulin Pump Clinic/ Sugar Clinic

Insulin Pump Clinic is a specialized clinic in the Department of Pediatric Endocrinology, Apollo Children Hospital, Chennai

This clinic works in association with the Apollo Sugar Clinic, Apollo Main Hospital, Greams Road, Chennai.

This clinic manages children with diabetes including type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, MODY, secondary diabetes, etc.


Insulin Pump Clinic includes Qualified Pediatric Diabetologist, Dietician & Diabetes Educator who evaluate and manage children with diabetes. All children undergo a comprehensive evaluation to know diabetes developed and appropriately managed.

Insulin Pump:

Insulin Pump initiation, dose adjustment and Carbohydrate counting are taught in a structured manner

Continuous Glucose Monitoring:

Continuous glucose monitoring system is advised for children with fluctuating blood sugars to aid in the appropriate dose adjustments.


Close follow-up of diabetic children is must. All children with diabetes have direct access to our Pediatric Diabetologist and adjust the doses and clarify the doubts on a regular basis.  Periodic Review of Glucose profiles thorugh mail are also done.
